AFW Dining Promotion Announced: Local restaurant dining discounts available to all active, reserve and veteran personnel with a valid military ID during lunch and dinner hours from Monday, May 14 – Friday, May 18, 2012. Congratulations to this years recipients of the Citizen Support of Our Armed Services Award: Joseph Dean, board chairman of the Stars and Stripes Honor Flight program, and Brian Ziegler, president of the Badger Honor Flight program. The public is invited to several exciting events to show support of our troops
in celebration of Armed Forces Week 2012: Forward with Gratitude.

 

What is Milwaukee Armed Forces Week?
Milwaukee Armed Forces Week is a joint effort of the Milwaukee Armed Services Committee, comprised of members of the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps and Coast Guard, as well as Milwaukee area citizens. Its mission is to increase public understanding of the role of the military in a democratic society as well as honor and acknowledge the people of the Armed Forces of the United States.

Event: VIP Night

Location: 128th Air Refueling Wing (1919 E. Grange Ave., Milwaukee)

Saturday, May 12

Event: Military Display
Time: 8:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.      
Location: 128th Air Refueling Wing (1919 E. Grange Ave., Milwaukee)
*Please note, no parking is available at the 128th Air Refueling Wing. Free parking and a shuttle from the M.A.T.C. South Campus is available, ending at 3:00 p.m. each day.

Time: 9:00 a.m. – staging begins, 11:00 a.m. – ride leaves, 12:00 p.m. – ceremony begins

Location:
Begins at Hal’s Harley Davidson (1925 S. Moorland Rd., New Berlin) & ends at the Harley Davidson Museum (400 W. Canal St., Milwaukee)

Route: Moorland Rd. North to Bluemount Rd., East to General Mitchel Blvd., South to Selig Dr., left on Canal St., east to Harley Davidson Museum.
